This recipe of Sauteed Mutton can be easily made in one pot or using a pressure cooker with basic ingredients and so is a best choice for hostelers, bachelors and beginners. The meat is cooked to prefection and the coating with Indian spices renders a spicy flavoured gravy which in turn is very relishing.

One such recipe I love to make whenever I am at stake is this Spicy Sauteed Mutton recipe, though very easy to cook its really authentic in taste and a good combo for flatbreads, chapati, roti, rice and breads to choice.

Equipment

  • 1 Pressure cooker
  • 1 Cooking Pan
  • Basic cooking utensils

Ingredients
  

Marination

  • 750 gms Mutton cubes
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 3 tsp Coriander powder
  • 2 tsp Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Ginger powder
  • 2 tsp Onion powder
  • 3/4 tsp Fennel powder
  • Salt

Cooking Mutton

  • 3-4 nos Green Chillies
  • 1/4 cup Coriander leaves
  • few Curry leaves
  • 1/2 cup Water

Saute Mutton

  • 3 tbsp Cooking oil
  • 2 cups Onion sliced
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Ginger powder
  • 1/2 tsp Fennel powder
  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
  • as per reqd Salt
  • 1 cup Tomato chopped
  • 3-4 nos Green chillies

Instructions
 

Marination

  • Take clean and prepared mutton (cut to small cubes) in a bowl.
  • Add in all the spices for marination.
  • Coat well the meat with all the spices and marinate well.
  • Keep to rest for 15- 30 mins.

Preparation

  • Clean and cut all the veggies reqd to desired shapes & sizes.

Cooking Mutton

  • Into a pressure cooker add the marinated meat.
  • Then add in all the other ingredients mentioned reqd for cooking meat.
  • Give a random mix and then cook the meat with the spices till the meat is 90% done.

Saute Mutton

  • Heat a pan at medium to low and add in cooking oil.
  • Add sliced Onion and saute till soft and trancluent.
  • Add the remaining spices mentioned reqd for saute of meat one by one.
  • And roast the spices at low heat.
  • Then add chopped Tomatoes to the pan and roast them all.
  • Cook them for 5-8 mins or till the oil separates.
  • Now add in the 90% cooked meat and combine well with all the spices.
  • Continue cooking for 2-3 mins.
  • Once done off the flame & garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.
  • Spicy Sauteed Mutton is ready to serve!
